Au pairs who love to learn, who care about the world around them and who want to understand more about how their exchange experience can help build bridges between their home country and the US are encourage to apply!
The application is now open for the 4th BridgeUSA Leadership Development Program seminar! To be eligible exchange visitors must be an au pair or Summer Work Travel participant in the United States during Jan. 30 – Feb. 2, 2023. The application deadline is Dec. 1, 2022. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together with other au pairs and summer work travel participants and Department of State BridgeUSA trainers and leaders.
The BridgeUSA Leadership Development Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and offers a unique opportunity to young leaders who show a willingness and interest in intercultural communication, community building, media literacy. The program focuses on ways visitors can leverage cross-cultural skills, language competencies, leadership, and international knowledge. Following the BridgeUSA Leadership Development program, these “citizen ambassadors” will share their new understanding of American values with their friends, family, and greater community upon their return home.

January 2023: Au Pair, Summer Work Travel
Please note:
The dates of this 3-day seminar program are Monday, January 30 to Thursday, February 2nd . Seminar is held in Washington DC. In order to attend you must be available and have permission from your host family to take this time and may need to take this as your vacation time.
By participating in this program participants are subject to a two-year home residency requirement (section 212(e) of the Immigration and Naturalization Act), which means that if you are selected and participate in this program you will be able to complete your time as an au pair but when you return to your home country, will not be able to get another visa to the US without a waiver to this residency requirement. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/study/exchange/waiver-of-the-exchange-visitor.html
