Au pair Lorena F. shares her Brazilian culture with ten 1st grade students at Epstein Hillel school in Marblehead, MA in Alexa Patenaude’s cluster.  She showed where Brazil is on the map, explained the colors of the flag, spoke about the geography and some cultural facts.   The students were really engaged when Lorena started talking about sports especially when she demonstrated Capoera. The highlight was when all the students received some brigadeiro (a dessert)!

Lorena shares about her experience: “It was so fun to have an opportunity to talk about my country and also surprising, because we never know how much people know about your culture or how much they will be surprised about it… It is a good way to get to know yourself and getting to know what other people are thinking too. It was important for me to share about my country because it allowed me to value where I come from. We are powerful! Global Awareness, thank you for this opportunity!”
