Sine, a Thai au pair in CT, would love to share the biggest holiday in Thailand.
“…It is called Songkran Day/ Songkarn Festival.
The Songkran festival is celebrated in Thailand as the traditional New Year’s Day from 13 to 15 April.
All Thai people go back to their hometown to stay with family and all around the country, they “SPASH WATER” or play with a water gun.
If you go outside your house during these days you have to get wet!!! HAHAHAHA, it’s so much fun!! Be careful if you want to go to Thailand on Songkran Day!!”
Sine says, “Here is Giuliana, one of the kids I care for. She is wearing the traditional Thai dress and putting her hands in what we call “Wai”. “Wai” is the standard greeting, and also when apologising, saying thanks and to show respect. “
Thanks, Sine! Let’s learn more about Thailand.
