On December 6th many children in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Poland woke up and found treats in their shoes. While here in the USA some of our au pairs shared this holiday with their host families.
Joanna from Poland: “I love Saint Nicolaus day!! I remember that I had been so excited about this day when I was younger. I had always cleaned my boots the night before and I had a plan to stay awake and meet Santa, but I always fell asleep before he came. I’m still excited about this day but I’m not waiting any more for gifts – I’m waiting for a good moment to put the little things in boots for people who I love.”
