“Today I went to ‘Park Street Academy’ in Montclair, NJ.  I talked to the teacher a couple of months ago and she told me that it would be a very amazing opportunity for me to tell the children how Spanish people celebrate Christmas.
It has been such an amazing experience being able to tell 5-year-old students about Spain (where it is, differences between Spain and the USA, etc), and how we celebrate Christmas.  I talked to them about the main food we eat, musical instruments that we play, and the grapes we eat on New Year’s Eve.
The children were very excited and they asked me so many questions about me and my country.  Furthermore, they were really excited when I showed them some pictures and videos about my country and culture.
I would love to encourage other Au Pairs to do this presentation to children.  It is a very enriching opportunity that will make you feel very happy and thankful for the opportunity of being able to see children smiling and getting interested in knowing more and more about your culture.”
