Celebrate, Share, and Win when you Show Off Your Au Pair Adventure!

Calling all APIA au pairs—this is your moment to shine! International Au Pair Day is back on November 24, 2025, and we’re turning up the excitement with an Instagram contest that celebrates YOU, your journey, and the incredible exchange of culture happening through au pairing. This year’s theme, “New Culture, New Habits, New Me,” is all about the transformation and joy of your au pair year—so let’s see your best moments!

How to Enter

• Who Can Join: You must be a current APIA au pair when you post.
• When to Post: The contest runs from Monday, November 10 to Monday, November 24, 2025. Only posts within this period count!
• Where to Post: Upload your entry on your personal Instagram account.
• What to Post: Share a static photo (no videos!) showing you experiencing your au pair year—alone, with friends, or with your host family. Make it memorable by posting in front of a US landmark (the Statue of Liberty, the Golden Gate bridge, a national parks, at a baseball game—the choice is yours!)
• Spread the Positivity: Add a message -in English- promoting au pairing in the United States as a positive experience. Show the world what makes your year special!
• Required Hashtags: Hashtag your photo with both #InternationalAuPairDay and #AuPairinAmerica so we can find your entry AND follow our brand new Instagram channel @apia.adventures.
• Enthusiasm Matters! The Top Ten winners will be judged on the enthusiasm of their post, and how well they embody this year’s theme: “New Culture, New Habits, New Me”. You can find inspiration on the International Au Pair Day website

Prize Tiers—Here’s What You Can Win!

• Top 3 Most Enthusiastic Posts: $200 gift card each
• 3 Second-Place Winners: $100 gift card each
• 4 Third-Place Winners: our very best APIA-branded swag

Winners will be congratulated privately via Instagram DM and publicly on Instagram using the hashtag #AuPairinAmerica, and internally via an All-APIA email blast on Wednesday, November 26^th.  Participants will be identified by their Instagram handle, first name & last initial, and home country.

Winners will be announced on Instagram and via APIA’s All-APIA email blast on Wednesday, November 26, 2025—right before Thanksgiving!

Selection & Winner Notification

• The APIA staff selection committee will choose the top ten winners based on the overall enthusiasm, positivity, and how well you capture the theme in your post.
• The top 20 Instagram posters will be contacted via Instagram DM on November 24th and 25th. If you’re in the running, you’ll need to reply with your name, APIA ID #, and contact information to confirm your eligibility!
• Prizes will be distributed on Monday, December 1, 2025.
• Your account might even pick up some new IG followers over Thanksgiving! So, get ready to inspire others to follow your adventures!

Contest Rules –

• Each participant must be a current APIA au pair, in ACT (or REM) status at the time of posting.
• The submission must be posted on Instagram from the au pair’s personal Instagram account between Monday, November 10 and Monday, November 24, 2025 (inclusive)
• The post must use both hashtags #InternationalAuPairDay and #AuPairinAmerica, and you must also follow @apia.adventures.
• The participant must post an appropriate picture of themself experiencing their au pair year and include an English language message promoting au pairing in the United States as a positive experience.
• The posting must include a static photo and not a video. More than one entrant may use the same photo, but each entrant must include themself as a subject in the photo.
• To be considered as a Top Ten winner, participants’ posts must show great enthusiasm for au pairing, the au pair program in the United States and/or Au Pair in America, and be reflective of the 2025 IAPD theme “New Culture, New Habits, New Me.”
• Each participant must monitor their Instagram account DMs on Monday and Tuesday, November 24^th and 25th for a message from the APIA contest manager stating they are in consideration. The participant must reply identifying themself with their name, Au Pair ID number and contact information.  
• The Top Ten winners will be selected by a team of Au Pair in America staffers based on their post’s presentation of the au pair life as a positive and meaningful experience. Winners will be announced on November 26, 2025.
