Au Pair in America Explorers for December
Community Counselors have identified these two au pairs as the Au Pair in America Explorers for December.
Suzette H. from Panama in Jasmin Newsome’s Baton Rouge, LA cluster.
Suzette received many accolades from her host family about her assimilating into their life style. What was fun to read was how she: “She has embraced our love for football, and has attended game days with us. In a very short period of time, she made friends with all of the Au Pairs in our area. She has explored New Orleans and is looking forward to Mardi Gras in a few months! She has also welcomed several new Au Pairs and shown then around town.”
Suzette’s community counselor confirmed that she embodies all the aspects of an Au Pair in America Explorer. We are excited to learn how she completes her year in the program and where her adventures will take her.
Lisa J. from Germany in Leeann Keady’s Medfield, MA cluster.
Lisa’s host family shared some great insight’s on their year together: “She enjoys learning about our culture, both locally within our family and neighborhood, and globally by exploring different parts of America. She loves to hike and is always finding new trails with friends on her free days. She has helped to motivate the entire family to be more active. She also enjoys sharing tidbits of her own culture with us. We are learning many German recipes and some German words.
During her free time, Lisa has explored many cultural opportunities around Boston. She always knows when the free museum days are, and what special events are available. This is also great for us, as it allows us to experience these cultural events as a family. This winter, she is planning to attend The Nutcracker at the Boston Ballet. Her genuine excitement for these cultural events has helped our children become more interested in them as well.”
