Jennifer S. in Maine, spent some time with a group of 1st graders teaching them a bit about Germany.  Although Jennifer was very nervous, she quickly found that the children loved learning about German traditions like gingerbread houses, Christmas markets, and carnival. In turn, Jennifer loved seeing an American school and seeing the differences with the schools back home.

My tip for other Au Pairs is: Don’t make yourself nervous about what you should say because the kids are excited anyway. So just talk about things you love about your home and everything will go just perfect. This unique experience was a highlight and I recommended Global Awareness to every Au Pair who likes sharing her/his culture.
