Hey my name is Natalie! I am 19 years old, german, and I just started my travel month.
On Monday, August 3rd I left Washington DC by plane to explore Texas. My first destination was Dallas where I spend a few hours at the beautiful Fair Park. After that I headed to the Dealey Plaza, J.F. Kennedy Memorial and Pioneer Plaza. All day it was nice and sunny. Since Texas is located in the south of the U.S. the temperature is higher than it is in Maryland, where my host family lives.
The next day I took the Megabus to go to the French Quarter in New Orleans. I really enjoyed exploring the streets with their pretty and colorful houses. Beside walking along Bourbon Street and visiting the French Flea Market I went to Mardi Gras World. It was amazing to see some of the huge floats, and to learn more about their complex decoration process as well as the event “Mardi Gras”.
On August 6th I got to the biggest airport in the world: the Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. After I got to Downtown Atlanta I spend almost all day at the World of Coca Cola and the Centennial Olympic Park. I had a great time there even if it was a short visit.
My route continued with a trip to Orlando, Florida for three days. Visiting Disney World and Universal Studios was a dream coming true and quite an adventure. I am a big fan of Harry Potter so I had most fun riding the Hogwarts Express and all the other fun roller coasters at the Harry Potter world at Universal.
After that the Megabus took me straight to Miami where I still am. I am planning on taking a tour to the Everglades and Key West, the most-southern point of the United States. Other than that I want to use my last couple days to relax at the beach before I have to go back to Germany.
