Kristen Q. Poking tells us about her flag entry
“…I believe that South Africa has one of the greatest constitutions in the world. That is why I incorporated it into my flag design. I drew the image of South Africa over the flag with words quoted from the constitution written inside. The constitution is part of the very fabric that makes South Africa what it is today.These are the words I chose to quote from the constitution:
“We the people of South Africa, recognize the injustice of our past, honor those who suffered for justice and freedom in our land, respect those who have worked to build and develop our country and believe that South Africa belongs to all who live in it, united by our diversity. Everyone has inherent dignity and the right to have their dignity respected and protected. Founding values: human dignity, the achievement of equality and the advancement of human rights and freedoms.””
