Nomi from South Africa Visits 2nd Grade

    Nomi V. from South Africa had fun sharing about her country.  The children at Hamilton Elementary School in North Kingstown, Rhode Island,  were especially intrigued when they saw pictures of all the wildlife.  Many wanted to go visit, until Nomi shared how long it takes to fly from the United States.

South Africa’s Women’s Day

Did you know that August 9th was Women's Day in South Africa? The national holiday commemorates a women's protest march on the Union buildings in Pretoria, South Africa on 9 August 1956. Culture Fair

Fairfield and New Haven County au pairs presented their countries at a Culture Fair held at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, CT.  Each country's booth was exciting and interactive. Children learned about their "global neighbors" while having a great time on a rainy day.
