An Opportunity for Au Pairs to Volunteer
Volunteering is an important part of American life. Past Au Pair in America Au Pairs have volunteered in many different places, including the schools in their communities.

What is Global Awareness?
Global Awareness is a new program in which you can volunteer in elementary and middle school classrooms. You have the opportunity to share your culture, customs and language with young American children. The mission of this program is to bring multi-cultural understanding into the classrooms.

Why be a Global Awareness Volunteer?
Are you interested in sharing your culture, customs and language with American children? If so, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Participants will receive a Global Awareness t-shirt. If you do two presentations, you will receive an engraved, brushed silver photo album with the Global Awareness logo on it.

How to Become a Global Awareness Volunteer
After you are settled with your new Host Family, contact your Community Counselor and let her/him know that you would like to volunteer as a Global Awareness Volunteer. Your counselor will provide you with all the necessary information for volunteering in the schools as well as give you materials to help you with your presentations.

This is a great opportunity for you to be an ambassador for your country!

Become an Email Ambassador
Email Ambassadors represent their countries by communicating with young women in their home countries who are interested in joining the Au Pair in America program. The Email Ambassador program is run through the London office of Au Pair in America and only Global Awareness Au Pairs are chosen to be ambassadors. Each ambassador receives a gift at the beginning and end of her tenure.
